Hey, I’m George. Thanks for checking in here and exploring my website.
I’m a professional guitarist and educator with over 20 years experience. I’ve worked hard but have also been fortunate enough to have toured the world and recorded with many incredible musicians. I have a wealth of knowledge in theory, technique and stylistic focus and I’d love to help you develop your guitar playing in all those areas.
But, we’ve heard this all before, right? Let me explain why we’re really here and what I’d really love to help you with.
I want to help you become a better musician. Help you to make those important initial connections between you, your love of music and your desire to improve your playing. Help you reconnect with your playing if you feel a bit…lost and out of touch with the purpose of your journey. Help you to discover and reap the rewards of the core foundational skills that shape us into musicians first, with the additional bonus of technical development thereafter.
From my years of experience of guitar students coming into my studio and telling me about their journey, one thing always stands out. Sure, there’s always a desire to further technical skills - picking, fretting, arpeggios, scales, triads…you name it. But the thing that they and myself all have in common? Whether we realise it or not, it’s this - we want to be better musicians, who understand how songs work. And feel a deeper connection to the notes we play.
That’s what I want to help you with. And it comes primarily from some important, oft-skipped key studies. I’d love to help you work on those and get in touch with what it is that drew us into learning an instrument in the first place.
